Marco John Cianni (born 1 November 1969) is an Australian notable Fellow of the ITEE College, Institution of Engineers Australia[1], Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects[2][3], and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
He is an Aerospace Chartered Engineer[4][5] through his election to the Royal Aeronautical Society[6][7][8], a Naval Architect, Chartered Professional Engineer in Information, Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering[9][1], International Professional Engineer[1], APEC Engineer[1] and academic author.

Career
[edit]Dr Cianni authors articles based on his research and experimental development on natural sciences and engineering, engineering design activities for industrial process and production, engineering related scientific and technical consulting activities, and technical testing and analysis.[28][29].
He was responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Rolls-Royce MTU Solutions on Distributed Computing AI HiPER Ring (utilising the Media Redundancy Protocol) optical fibre Ethernet networks, for HNoMS Maud of the Royal Norwegian Navy[30][31] and Royal Fleet Auxiliary Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) Tide-class tanker that supply and support the Royal Navy's Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales[32].
Previously Vice President for Energy Markets at Pacific Telecom International based in Sydney, Australia, he established the Perth, Western Australia space satellite facility[33][34], before its acquisition by Speedcast in April 2013.[35] Prior to that he was appointed director of CapRock Communications and a founding director of Harris Corporation (now L3Harris Technologies) space satellite communications operations in Perth, Western Australia (named Harris Caprock Communications)[33][34][25], before it's acquisition by Speedcast International.[36]
In his early career he served as a specialist communications officer in the armed forces.[25]
Non-profit
[edit]Dr Cianni is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (List of fellows of the Royal Society of Arts Fellowship Number: 8285243), a STEM sponsor and mentor for migration to Australia through the Institution of Engineers Australia and he received gold and bronze awards form Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), for his non-profit work, supporting the ARU student and local community.[37][38][39]
