Introduction
[edit]Manukhta Di Sewa Sab Ton Waddi Sewa Society is a Ludhiana-based non-governmental organization (NGO) in Punjab, India, committed to serving humanity through various charitable activities. This non-profit organization provides free shelter, food, medical aid, and other essential services to the poor, homeless, sick, and needy. The organization operates with the guiding belief that "serving humanity is the greatest service." It was founded by S. Gurpreet Singh Ji and continues to grow with the support of volunteers and donors, offering hope to those marginalized by society.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
Vision and Mission
[edit]The core mission of Manukhta Di Sewa Sab Ton Waddi Sewa Society is to uplift and rescue individuals who are abandoned or neglected by society. The organization aims to provide a second chance at life for people left to die in inhumane conditions on streets, slums, public places, temples, hospitals, or in their homes.[8][9][10][11][12]
With a vision to make the world more humane and just, the society is determined to:
- Rescue and rehabilitate the most vulnerable individuals, including the mentally and physically ill.
- Provide lifelong free medical care, food, and shelter to the poorest of the poor.
- Offer educational sponsorships for deserving students from underprivileged families.
Rescue Operations
[edit]One of the most crucial functions of the NGO is its rescue operations. Volunteers tirelessly work to save individuals who are found in terrible physical and mental conditions. Some cases involve people who have been suffering from maggot-infested wounds and are left untreated due to being denied care by hospitals. The society’s team of volunteers treats these individuals with compassion by cleaning their wounds, bathing them, and getting them the necessary medical care from expert doctors.
The organization also conducts rescue missions for bonded laborers and victims of human trafficking. In collaboration with the local police and administration, the NGO organizes raids to free those kept in inhumane working conditions and provide them with a new lease on life.
Community Services and Support Programs
[edit]Manukhta Di Sewa Sab Ton Waddi Sewa Society also conducts various community outreach programs. They organize free medical camps every two weeks for the mentally challenged and blind individuals, offering them lifelong access to free medication. Additionally, the society distributes free monthly rations to the most impoverished families in the community.
Another significant aspect of their service includes sponsoring the education of brilliant yet financially disadvantaged students, thus ensuring a brighter future for them.
Founder
[edit]The NGO was founded by S. Gurpreet Singh Ji[13], whose dedication and compassion inspire the organization’s activities. His vision is to create a society where no one is left behind, especially those who suffer silently on the streets or within their homes due to poverty, illness, or neglect.
Media and Public Recognition
[edit]The exceptional work of the NGO has garnered attention from various media outlets. The organization's rescue stories and the positive impact they've created have been featured in prominent newspapers like The Times of India, The Tribune, Hindustan Times, and Outlook India, among others. Their heartwarming stories of rescuing the most vulnerable and providing them with dignity and care have touched the lives of many, making them a beacon of hope for society.
