Example of Ash’aar (Couplets):
[edit]Jo Na Dete The Jawaab Unke Salaam Aane Lage
Waqt Badla Toh Mere Neem Pe Aam Aane Lage
Faiz Uthaane Ke Liye Sohbat e Sultani Mein
Had se Badh Jaate Hain Kuchh Log SanaaKhwaani mein
Sataane Walo’n Ki Hairat Ke Lootta Hoo’n Maze
Sajaa Ke Rukh Pe Yeh Manzar Ki DIl Dukha Hi Nahi’n
Koshish Pe Munhasir Hai Dua Ki Qubooliyat
Aahu Ka Rab Hi Rozi Rasaa’n Sher Ka Bhi Hai
Mausam e Ghul Ho, Sard Shabein Ho’n, Ya barsaat Ki Raatein Ho’n
Haath Mein Haath Ho Yaar Ka Aur, Khulkar Bekaar Ki Baatein Ho’n
