However, the mere fact that a company, organization, or product is a page's subject does not, on its own, qualify that page for deletion under this criterion. This criterion also does not apply where substantial encyclopedic content would remain after removing the promotional material as deletion is not cleanup; in this case please remove the promotional material yourself, or add the {{advert}} tag to alert others to do so. See CSD G11.

History
[edit]In 1895, Mahila Vidyalaya Degree College was established in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, as a step towards advancing women's education. The institution began as The Hindu Girls' School, operating from a rented house in Aminabad, with just nine students enrolled. The school aimed to make women self-reliant through education. On March 9, 1921, the school’s permanent building was inaugurated by Sri C.Y. Chintamani, the then Education Minister of the United Provinces of Agra and Oudh. The name was officially changed to Mahila Vidyalaya on February 26, 1922.
In 1928, the institution was recognized for High School education, followed by recognition for Intermediate in 1932. In 1939, it was upgraded to Mahila Vidyalaya Degree College and became an associated college of the University of Lucknow.
Over the years, the college expanded its academic offerings. B.Ed. and L.T. courses were introduced in 1952 under the leadership of Principal Dr. Kanchan Lata Sabbarwal. B.Sc. courses began in 1962. Principal Ms. E.M. Dubey also played a key role in the institution’s development, emphasizing women's education. Later, in 1983, B.Com was introduced, and in 1985, the B.Sc. (Home Science) course was added. In 2001, Principal Dr. Sarita Verma introduced self-financed courses in Computer Science and Statistics.
Today, Mahila Vidyalaya offers education from Pre-Nursery to Degree level and continues to provide higher education opportunities to women. The institution has also been supported by several prominent figures in Lucknow, who have contributed to its growth.
The college marked its Platinum Jubilee in 2014, celebrating 75 years since its establishment as a degree college. The event included discussions on education and employability, with notable figures like the Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University, Prof. M.S. Sodha, participating.
