Dr. Madhavan Anirudhan is an Indian-born American nutrition scientist and corporate leader, currently serving as the President of Essen Nutrition Corporation. He holds advanced academic qualifications in Nuclear Chemistry and Nutrition and has held leadership positions in the food and nutrition industry.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Dr. Anirudhan earned two Ph.D. degrees: one in Nuclear Chemistry and another in Nutrition. He began his career as a Professor of Chemistry before transitioning into nutritional science.
Career
[edit]Dr. Anirudhan is the President of Essen Nutrition Corporation, which he helped expand over the past two decades. The company supplies diet and dietetic products to North American supermarkets and weight-loss companies.[1]
Previously, he served as Corporate Director of Research and Development at Sandoz Nutrition. He has also consulted for U.S. food companies such as Dean Foods, Kraft Foods, Sara Lee, and Kroger Corporate Technology.[2]
He participated in the FDA's Food Label Regulatory Committee, contributing to the development of food labeling standards.[3]
Essen Nutrition Corporation
[edit]Founded in 1984, Essen Nutrition formulates and distributes nutritional products aimed at promoting health and wellness.[4] The company expanded to India in 2017, opening a facility at KINFRA Food Park in Kerala.[5]
Community Involvement
[edit]Dr. Anirudhan has been active in the Indian-American community, serving three terms as President of the Federation of Kerala Associations in North America (FOKANA).[6] He also served on the Board of Governors of the India Development Foundation of Overseas Indians from 2012 to 2015, and is a Director of NORKA-ROOTS.[7]
