École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne Model United Nations (abbreviated MUN EPFL) is a nonprofit organization created in 2004 and completely managed by EPFL and UNIL.[2] MUN EPFL is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. Its mission is to defend and promote the ideals and principles of the United Nations by offering students the opportunity to engage in debate on a wide range of global issues.[2] MUN EPFL is a member of UNYA Switzerland.

[edit]Every spring, MUN EPFL organizes its annual Model United Nations conference by the name of EPFLMUN. The event brings together students, young professionals, and enthusiasts of diplomacy and international relations from around the world. The conference is hosted by École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), one of Europe's most renowned science and technology institutions, and takes place on its vibrant campus in Lausanne, Switzerland.
History and Growth
[edit]EPFLMUN was first launched in 2022[3] as a platform to foster intellectual engagement, cultural exchange, and critical thinking through simulated United Nations sessions. Its origins can be traced back to 2007, when MUN EPFL hosted the prestigious Harvard World MUN conference[4]. The success of this event inspired the establishment of a dedicated annual conference, which evolved into EPFLMUN. Over the years, the conference has grown exponentially, attracting hundreds of participants from various continents and academic disciplines. Its reputation as a well-organized and dynamic Model United Nations (MUN) conference has established it as a prominent event within the global MUN circuit
