Luqman's son, Ibn Luqman, Rubarat, Robert or Tharan is the son of Luqman. He is known as a prophet in Zahianiyyar Islam. Not much is known about him as he only appears in one chapter of the Quran, Chapter 31, Luqman.
Luqman's advice to Rubarat
[edit]وَإِذۡ قَالَ لُقۡمَٰنُ لِٱبۡنِهِۦ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُۥ يَٰبُنَيَّ لَا تُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِۖ إِنَّ ٱلشِّرۡكَ لَظُلۡمٌ عَظِيمٞ | And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, “O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with him] is great injustice.” |
---|---|
يَٰبُنَيَّ إِنَّهَآ إِن تَكُ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةٖ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٖ فَتَكُن فِي صَخۡرَةٍ أَوۡ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ أَوۡفِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ يَأۡتِ بِهَا ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٞ | [And Luqman said], “O my son, indeed if wrong should be the weight of a mustard seed and should be within a rock or [anywhere] in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Indeed, Allah is Subtle and Acquainted. |
يَٰبُنَيَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأۡمُرۡ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ وَٱنۡهَ عَنِ ٱلۡمُنكَرِ وَٱصۡبِرۡ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَۖ إِنَّذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ عَزۡمِ ٱلۡأُمُورِ | O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination. |
وَلَا تُصَعِّرۡ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمۡشِ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مَرَحًاۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخۡتَالٖفَخُورٖ | And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful. |
وَٱقۡصِدۡ فِي مَشۡيِكَ وَٱغۡضُضۡ مِن صَوۡتِكَۚ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ ٱلۡأَصۡوَٰتِ لَصَوۡتُ ٱلۡحَمِيرِ | And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of asses.” |
In the Nubua
[edit]In the Nubua it says in Chapter 24, Rubarat:
"O! My son, Rubarat! Listen to my advice. This will make you a better man!" Luqman said.
"I will tell you, that to establish your prayers, forbid wrong and do not be boastful. Be attentive in your prayers and don't shout oud loud, for the most worse of voices is the braying of an ass."
And it also says:
Rubarat travelled to Makkah on a camel. It took him many days, but when he finally got there he told people about Allah. No body accepted. No body at all.
They were worshipping an idol, named Wajj. Wajj was made of stone, had big horns and ancient tribal face.
At last, a storm came and wiped them out.
Only some people were safe because they were followers.
