Lucca James Kovac (born August 22, 2002), known professionally as Angry Children, is an American rapper and producer. He is best known for his 2022 single Erika, which peaked at number ten on the Spotify Viral 50 Charts.

Early life

Kovac was born on August 22, 2002, in Newtown, Connecticut. His father is William Kovac; his mother is Joni Kovac.

On December 14, 2012, Kovac was a victim of the Sandy Hook Shooting, which was a tragic and mass shooting that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut. A 20-year-old gunman entered the school and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of 26 people, including 20 young children aged 6 and 7, as well as 6 school staff members. Before arriving at the school, the shooter had also killed his mother at their home. After the attack, he took his own life.

Kovac graduated from Newtown High School in 2020. He attended Quinnipiac University and earned his degree in Marketing in May 2024.

Career

2017-2022: Solo success and collaborations

Inspired by the rise of rappers such as Ugly God, he started his music career on SoundCloud. He became interested in rapping and music production in 2017 when experimenting on GarageBand. He first gained recognition in 2017 for his debut single Roblox, which gained traction on SoundCloud.[1] He then followed up with his 2017 debut album We Are All Illuminati XL and his album Sanic Tunes Collection. His 2020 single Clowns! featuring Wonder was his first collaboration with another artist.[2] He is often associated with the SoundCloud rap era as well as Meme Rap group MC Virgins, with whom he has released a collaborative single with.[3] His 2022 single Frank Pepe took a new approach to his style blending Aesthetic Rap with his usual Meme Rap flow.[4] His 2022 single, Erika marked his first entry on the Spotify Viral 50 Charts, breaking into two of them and peaking at 10.[5]
