Los Pingüinos me la van a Mascar is a Spanish internet meme from 2020, depicting the four penguins of the Penguins of Madagascar with different names and a onomatopoeia referring to "penguins doing oral sex".[1] The meme itself went viral in late 2023.[2]

Etymology

[edit]

The original Spanish name of the Penguins of Madagascar movie is Los pingüinos de Madagascar. Los Pingüinos me la van a Mascar is a catchphrase where Madagascar is replaced by "me la van a Mascar", which literally means "they're going to chew it up for me", but sarcastically also "they're sucking my penis", with la being an indirect pronoun that implies pija, meaning penis.

Origins

[edit]

The earliest known version of the meme is a deleted video from TikTok by @frankypinto24, in which he lists the names of the penguins in sarcastic way and adds a little laugh when saying Stripper. After that video and its sound went viral, people started using it for their own skits such as @emiliocervera.m, who garnered over 1 million views and 93,300 likes. The sound that was later used in the 3D video, which is the most notable audio, was posted by @enrique_arcos in 2022, garnering over 1 million views and 119,000 likes.[2]
