Lord of the Flies is an upcoming television series based on the 1954 novel of the same name by William Golding. It is adapted by Jack Thorne and from producer Eleven.
Premise
[edit]A group of boys are left stranded on a deserted island after their plane crashes.[1]

Production
[edit]A four-part adaptation of the William Goldman novel Lord of the Flies for BBC One and BBC iPlayer was announced in April 2023. It is adapted by Jack Thorne who also acts as executive producer, alongside Eleven’s Joel Wilson and Jamie Campbell and Nawfal Faizullah for the BBC.[2] It is backed by Sony Pictures Television.[3]
Filming on the series was due to begin in Australia in April 2024.[4] However, in February 2024 production staff were released with the project still in development.[5]
In September 2024, it was announced that the score would be created by Hans Zimmer along with an announcement of the lead cast. Zimmer will work alongside Kara Talve for Bleeding Fingers Music on the score. Filming took place in Malaysia in 2024 with further filming planned for the United Kimgdom.[6][7]
