Lorato Trok (born 8 August 1974) is an award-winning South African writer, translator, and editor, known for her dedication to children's literature, especially stories in African languages. Born and raised in a family that cherished oral storytelling, her passion for narrating tales developed from listening to her mother and aunt tell folktales during her childhood. This early influence led her to start writing, and in 2007, she published her first children's book. Her works focus on empowering young readers, particularly girls, and she strives to tell stories that reflect African experiences.
