The entirety of junior college includes X teams, X from the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) Division I and Division III and X from the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) . Each team has one head coach.[1] As of the 2024 season, junior college is composed of eighteen conferences: the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC), Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC), Northeast Football Conference (NFC), Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC), NJCAA Division I independents, Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC), NJCAA Division III independents, American Pacific League, American Golden Coast League, American Metro League, American Pacific 7 League, National Bay 6 League, National Central League, National Norcal League, National Northern League, National Southern League, and National Valley League.
As of the start of the 2024 season, the longest-tenured coach in junior college football, is expected to be X of X, who has been head coach at the school since X. In all, X junior college programs have new head coaches in 2024.
