Draft:List of all-time Vancouver Whitecaps seasons
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC are the oldest active professional soccer team in Canada, with a history that spans fifty years, and three team incarnations. The current iteration of the team was founded in 2009 and started play in Major League Soccer in 2011. Prior to joining MLS, the Whitecaps played eleven seasons in the original North American Soccer League from 1974 to 1984. Following the collapse of that league, the team was revived as the Vancouver 86ers in 1986 to play in the professional Canadian Soccer League from 1987 to 1992. After the Canadian Soccer League was disestablished prior to the 1993 season, Vancouver would play in the various second division leagues of the United States, until their eventual promotion to Major League Soccer.
This is a list of all seasons played by iterations of the Vancouver Whitecaps, to compare their performances across two national associations, two league tiers, and seven league organizations. For statistical purposes, points are calculated using the conventional system of awarding 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. It should be noted that prior to 2003, American and Canadian leagues did not always use this system, so the points in this list may not accurately reflect how many points the Vancouver Whitecaps earned in an individual season's league table.

Notes
[edit]- ^ Vancouver played a match against each WSA team in the 1988 season. These matches did count towards the league standings for their opponents, however, Vancouver itself was not included in the league standings, and did not achieve any position. Vancouver finished with a record of 3 wins and 3 losses against WSA opponents.
- ^ Despite qualifying, Vancouver withdrew from the tournament before playing in any match.
- ^ Does not include home matches played in American stadiums, or matches played behind closed doors.
