The Michelin Bib Gourmand list highlights restaurants offering "exceptionally good food at moderate prices". They must offer menu items priced below a maximum determined by local economic standards.[1] In Canada, a Bib Gourmand restaurant must be able to offer a two-course meal and either dessert or a glass of wine for less than $60 CAD per person.[2]
Per Michelin's own rating system, the Bib Gourmand is considered "Not quite a star, but most definitely not a consolation prize" and a "a just-as-esteemed rating."[3]
Three regions are covered by the Michelin Guide in Canada - Greater Toronto,[4] Vancouver[5] and Quebec. The Toronto and Vancouver guides launched separately in September 2022, and update annually each autumn. The Quebec guide is expected to launch in the spring of 2025.
A total of 39 restaurants in Canada presently have a Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition - 23 in the Toronto area,[6] and 16 in Vancouver.[7]
Quebec
[edit]Michelin Bib Gourmand awarded restaurants in the Province of Quebec are expected to be announced in Spring 2025.
