This is a list of all sound cartoons produced and released by the Van Beuren animation studio, formerly known as Fables Pictures Inc., now starting with a brief summary about this studio, it was founded in 1920 by Paul Terry and Amedee J. Van Beuren, the person who gave the studio its name, and it began producing the weekly shorts for the Aesop's Fables series; in 1928, the studio produced a short called Dinner Time, which was released in theaters on October 14, 1928, being one of the first sound shorts in the history of animation, but it did not finish being as successful as Steamboat Willie, released a month and four/three days later (on November 18, 1928), after this short the studio began producing more sound shorts to later adding sound to older cartoons, examples are Custard Pies (The Pie Man, 1925) and Wood Choppers (Lumber Jacks, 1924); so after Paul Terry left they stopped adding sound to the older shorts that were made with him as producer and started making new sound shorts beginning with The Jungle Fool, released on September 15, 1929, thus continuing with the sound production of new shorts until the studio closed in 1936.
