Lindelwe Lesley Ndlovu (born 23 February 1983), is a Zimbabwean financier and leader.[1][2] He is serving as chief executive officer at African Risk Capacity "ARC" Limited, a specialized risk agency of the African Union, that provides parametric insurance solutions for climate change and outbreaks and epidemics.[3] Prior to his appointment in March 2020, he was chief executive officer at AXA Africa Specialty Risks, a Lloyd's of London syndicate, based in London, England since May 2018.[4]
Prior to joining African Risk Capacity "ARC" Limited in 2020, Ndlovu served continuously for 7 years in different positions at Axa between 2013 and 2020. Where from 2016 to 2018, he was head of corporate development at AXA Global Asset Management, based in Paris, France.[5][6][7] Ndlovu appeared on both Powerlist 2020 and Powerlist 2021, the Choiseul African 100 list and in 2022 was selected by the World Economic Forum among young global leaders.[8][9]He is currently a board member of Mercy Corps in US since 2021.[10][11]
Career
[edit]In December 2006, after receiving his degree in Taxation from University of Oxford, Ndlovu began working at the Deloitte headquarters in Bermuda as a manager in charge of alternative investments at the company situated in Bermuda, until August 2008.[12][13] In September of the same year, he joined AXIS Capital also in Bermuda and served as vice president responsible for investments until April 2013.[14][failed verification][15]
In May 2013, Ndlovu joined Axa where he started serving as chief investment officer at AXA Group in Singapore. He served in this position until August 2014 when he was promoted to Axa's headquarters in Paris, France and became the chief of staff and executive assistant to the chairman of the Axa.[16][17] In this role Ndlovu worked directly with the Chairman, Denis Duverne, he served until June 2016. Subsequently, in July of the same year he was appointed to head of corporate development at AXA Global Asset Management, an Axa holding company responsible for company's global asset management activities based in Paris, France.[18][19] He served until April 2018 when he relocated to London, England to serve as chief executive officer of AXA Africa Specialty Risks, a Lloyd's of London syndicate providing (re)insurance for corporate and specialty clients across all major lines of business such as marine, aviation, construction and political risks.[20] He served until February 2020 when he was appointed as chief executive officer at African Risk Capacity Limited as a successor to Dolika Banda.[21]
