Libertate ("Freedom") is a 2023 film directed by Tudor Giurgiu about the Romanian revolution.[1] It premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival and won 18 awards at the 2024 Gopo Awards.[2]
Plot
[edit]The film is based on real events that occurred in Sibiu, in which members of the police, suspected of being members of the securitate, and some civilians, accused of terrorism, were illegally detained in a swimming pool for over a month by members of the Romanian army.
