Lewis Bass International Engineering Services (LBIES) is an engineering consulting firm specializing in safety engineering and regulatory compliance services.

History

[edit]

Lewis Bass International, Inc. (LBI) was established in 1979 by Lewis Bass, a licensed Professional Engineer and attorney.[1] The company initially specialized in consultancy services related to product liability, hazardous materials, and facility safety. It gained early recognition for conducting third-party evaluations of electrical equipment, particularly semiconductor tools, assisting companies in navigating California's safety regulations.

Following the passing of its founder in 2010, the company was restructured as Lewis Bass International Engineering Services, Inc. (LBIES) under the leadership of Patricia Bass, who had previously worked in administrative and sales roles within the company. In 2024, Patricia Bass retired and sold the company to a new management team comprised of four key employees.

The company primarily focuses on safety assessments, third-party equipment evaluations, and field label inspections for various industries. The company also engages in corporate social responsibility, supporting community and educational initiatives, including scholarships, internships, and participation in career development events for local engineering students.[1]
