[edit]Leo Sakai (born c. 1980s) is an American banker, entrepreneur, and author based in New York and Tokyo. He is the founder and CEO of Little Monster Inc., a business development firm focused on international expansion, and the founder and chairman of the Pursue Your Dream Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to coaching and training small business owners and international students.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Leo Sakai was born in the United States in the 1980s. He pursued higher education at Washington College in Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management with a focus on Finance.
Career
[edit]Banking Sakai began his professional career in the banking industry in 2001 with Commerce Bank in New York City. As an Assistant Branch Manager and Management Development Associate (MDA), he participated in a comprehensive two-year rotational program, gaining experience across various banking functions.
In 2004, Sakai joined Bank of America as a Senior Business Banker and Vice President in New York. During his tenure, he managed a portfolio of over 800 high-net-worth individuals and small-to-medium enterprise (SME) clients, totaling $250 million in deposits. Sakai led a team of 12 associates and consistently ranked among the top performers in sales nationally.
Entrepreneurship
[edit]In 2007, Sakai expanded his professional scope by founding Advanced Millennium Consulting, a firm offering advisory services in mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, and international business expansion. The same year, he established the Pursue Your Dream Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and international students achieve their business goals through training and mentorship.
In 2017, Sakai founded Little Monster Inc., a firm specializing in international business development. The company focuses on helping Japanese businesses expand into the U.S. and other global markets through services such as market entry strategy, recruitment, and management consulting. Sakai has played a pivotal role in facilitating the U.S. market entry for several Japanese manufacturers and guiding cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
