Kuhlekwethu Charles Maseko (born March 16, 2004) is a South African politician and entrepreneur. He is noted for his roles within ActionSA, where he has held various leadership positions, including within the party's youth structures. In addition to his political work, Maseko has also pursued business ventures and competes as a golfer.

Early Life and Education

[edit]

Maseko was born on March 16, 2004, in Boksburg, South Africa. Raised in a Catholic family, he attended multiple Catholic schools, including St. Peter's School and the Christian Brothers' College, Mount Edmund. He later completed his secondary education at a Turkish school.[1] Maseko developed an early interest in politics, reportedly as young as age nine.

Political Career

[edit]

Maseko began his political career with ActionSA, serving as the Constituency Chairperson for the Tshwane region. In this capacity, he oversaw party activities and facilitated membership expansion.[2]

Maseko also served as the shadow MMC for Infrastructure and was a candidate for the National Assembly (Parliament). He represented ActionSA on the Finance Subcommittee of the Student Representative Council (SRC) and held positions on both the local and provincial levels. His work extended to the KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga provinces, where he was appointed to the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and served as Head of Campaigns.[3]

In August 2024, Maseko resigned from ActionSA, citing internal conflicts and ethical concerns about the party's Youth Forum leadership. This resignation was followed by the departure of 22 PEC members from the North West, who expressed similar concerns.[4][5]

Personal Life

[edit]

Maseko has lived in the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and Mpumalanga. He is active on social media under the handle @Kuhlethebossman, where he has 17,000 followers.[6]

Maseko was previously in a relationship with Nandisile Ndlovu. He has also hosted a talk show, "24newswithkuhle," interviewing public figures from politics and entertainment.[7][8][9]
