Kostadin Kamcev is a Macedonian born, American sound recording and mixing engineer based in New York. Kamcev has 3 Grammy Nominations, and has worked with artists such as Lenny White, Steve Smith, Ron Carter, Bobby Rondinelli as well as recorded vocals with Loire for the Dune soundtrack(s).[1][2][3][4]

Career

In 1995 Kostadin (Kosta) Kamcev opened Studio Mozart in the building of the former studios of Macedonian National Television - Skopje, Capital of Macedonia. Kosta was a pioneer in using computers for recording audio in Macedonia.[5] He also worked with some of the most successful musicians in the country at the time such as Никола Димушевски, Igor Džambazov ,Suzana Spasovska Blagica Pavlovska, Grigor Koprov, Bodan Arsovski, Паркети and others.

In the early 2000's Kosta immigrated to the United States with his family and brought along Studio Mozart to New Jersey.[6] Here he began working with and recording prominent musicians such as Lenny White, Bobby Rondinelli, Wallace Roney, Paul Bollenback, Claudio Roditi, Jenny Douglas,[7] Graham Maby, The Smithereens, Whiplash, Efrain Davila,[8] Crack The Sky,[9] Ron Carter, Oz Noy, Christian McBride, Loire, John Scofield, Glen Velez, Eddie Gomez, Oscar Hernandez, Manuel Valera, John Benitez, Gloria Gaynor, George Garzone, Janek Gwizdala, John Patitucci, Steve Smith, Stanley Clarke, Thommy Price, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, and many more...)[1][2][3][4]

Kostadin recorded the vocals for movies such as Dune, Dune: Part Two, Dark Phoenix, Raya and the Last Dragon in collaboration with extraordinary rhythm vocalist Loire.[6]

  • 2021, Grammy Nomination for "Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media" as additional engineer for the soundtrack album of the movie "DUNE" artist Hans Zimmer
  • 2014, Grammy Nomination for "Best Gospel Album", as assistant engineer in Studio Mozart, the album "Withholding Nothing (live)" of the artist William McDowell
