On March 20th, 2024, James L. Mauney, was murdered while walking his dogs along a walking path in Juliaetta in Juliaetta, Idaho.[1]
The following day, Mauney was reported missing to local authorities after communications ceased.[2]

Perpetrators
[edit]Skylar Meade escaped custody at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho on March 20th, 2024 with the assistance of Nicholas Umphenour.[3] Skylar Meade was transported to the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center after engaging himself in self-inflected injuries.[4] [5]
Nicholas Umphenour assisted with the escape after ambushing an escort of three police officers, wounding two of them before fleeing with Meade in a get-away vehicle.
Murder
[edit]With the current ongoing investigation into the homicide, it is believed that the homicide was indiscriminate, and a failed attempt robbery.
Mauney's body was disposed near the neighboring town of Leland, Idaho.[6]
