Khim Swaqq (born November 18, 1994) is a South Sudanese hip-hop and dancehall musician. He gained recognition for his versatile style blending hip-hop, reggae, and Afro dancehall elements in his music.[1][2]
Early life and education
[edit]Khim Swaqq was born as Chol Abolich Chol on November 18, 1994, in Bor, Jonglei State, South Sudan. He moved to Uganda during his childhood and completed his primary education at St. Moses Primary School in Jinja Town, Uganda. He later attended Kisubi High School and Standard High for his Ordinary ‘O’ Level, finishing in 2014. He furthered his education at Hana Mixed Secondary School and St. Peter’s Sseguku Secondary School in Kampala, obtaining his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) in 2016. Currently, he is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology at Team University in Kampala, Uganda.[3][4]
Music career
[edit]Khim Swaqq started his music career in 2009 as a rapper and has since evolved into a prominent figure in the South Sudanese and Ugandan music scenes. He gained prominence in 2015 with the release of the hit collaborative single "Camera" featuring Shaddy Man. Known for his energetic performances and unique blend of genres, Khim Swaqq has released several successful singles and albums, including "Apala," "Whoolipa," and "Binia Junub."[4] [5]
