Kanavinskaya Street (Russian: Канавинская улица) is a street in the Kanavinsky City District of Nizhny Novgorod.
History
[edit]The first mention of Kanavinskaya (Kunavinskaya) Sloboda, the site of the modern street, is contained in the land register of 1621–1622. Before the Russian Revolution it was called Kuznechnaya, after which it was renamed in honor of the revolutionary Babushkin and was called Babushkinskaya.
Location
[edit]The street starts from house No. 21 on Sovetskaya Street and runs parallel to Litvinov and Alyosha Peshkov Street to Priokskaya Street, crossing Lunacharsky, Vokzalnaya, Dal, and Prokofyeva Streets.
Buildings and constructions
[edit]The street is dominated by low-rise buildings: two-story houses built in 1916-1917.
