Juju Choukri (born in Algeria, Africa, raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA) is an American professional soccer player, coach, and community figure. Known for his exceptional sprinting ability and explosive speed on the field; as well as his dedication to the sport, Juju is committed to advancing soccer in his community, Choukri has pursued a path in competitive soccer influenced by his family’s athletic legacy and his father’s professional background in the sport. His blood-brother, Rayan Sohaib Choukri, is an active professional soccer player as well. Juju Choukri is currently active as a player, trainer, and mentor for young and old athletes, Choukri's dedication has inspired youth involvement and soccer development in Indianapolis, and has trained professionally overseas.
Early Life and Family Background
Juju Choukri was born in Algeria and moved to Indianapolis with his family at the age of one. His father, Sheikh Abdullah-Tewfik Choukri, is a well-known figure in the Indianapolis Muslim community, contributing significantly to the establishment of Islamic institutions in the area. Abdullah-Tewfik served as the head Sheikh of Masjid Al Fajr and principal at the MTI Islamic private school for over 14 years, and he currently leads as the principal and owner at Legacy Learning Center Private School. Known for his influential sermons and community involvement, Sheikh Tewfik also played professional soccer with USM Alger in Algeria’s first division as well as a champion boxer in Algeria, an experience that deeply influenced Juju’s interest in both sports. However, a training injury shortly after succeeding a tryout with the Indy Eleven prompted a year-long rehabilitation, after which he returned to form.

Unfortunately, shortly after receiving this promising news, he suffered a quadriceps muscle tear due to an accident, sidelining him for at least a year. Sports doctors have projected a possible return around the summer of 2025, and the teams remain in communication with Choukri’s manager, maintaining interest in his future potential.

Through his father’s influence, Juju Choukri has developed deep ties within the Indianapolis Muslim community. He assists at Legacy Learning Center, where he actively coaches and mentors students in soccer ranging from elementary kids to high school and college athletes.
