Joshua Thomond is an English snooker player.[1]
Career
[edit]He entered the 2021 Snooker Shoot Out, where he was beaten by veteran Barry Pinches.[2]
He was defeated at Snooker’s Q School in 2023 by Bai Yulu,[3] and Jamie O'Neill.[4]
However, his performances at the 2023 Q School were enough for him to earn a top-up place to compete entered into the main draw at the 2023 Championship League, held at the Morningside Arena in Leicester, England from 26 June 2023, the opening event of the 2023-24 season where he faced Barry Pinches, Julien Leclercq and Jordan Brown.[5]
At Q School in 2024, he gained revenge over Barry Pinches before reaching the final round with a 4-0 win over Zack Richardson. In the final round he faced ranking semi-finalist Mitchell Mann and lost 4-2.[6][7] His performances were enough to earn a place as a top-up player competing as an amateur at the 2024 Championship League in Leicester in June 2024, where he earned a credible 2-2 draw with Ali Carter.[8] At the 2024 English Open in Brentwood in September 2024 he reached the second round following a win over Liam Graham.[9]
Personal life
[edit]From Leigh, Greater Manchester, Thomomd suffered burns to his face and neck after a kitchen accident in 2021.[10][11]
