Josefina Escajeda (1893-8 March 1981) was a Mexican American folklorist, teacher, and pioneer. Several of her stories were published in Puro Mexicano and Straight Texas.[1][2] She taught for several years in Clint, TX prior to her marriage, and helped to pioneer Fabens, TX.[2] Escajeda also supported the El Paso Our Lady at Mount Carmel Catholic Church, an old mission, by conducting fundraisers to preserve the site.[1]
