Brigadier John Meredith Bellman MC (1920-1988) was a British Army officer and Aide-de-Camp to Queen Elizabeth II.

He was the son of Colonel John Francis Bellman M.C. (born 4 Jan. 1893) and Elsie Hoskins.^[1] He was educated at Wellington College and Royal Military Academy, Woolwich.

John Bellman served in the 4th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in World War II, seeing action in Egypt then Burma. On 11th August 1942 he was promoted to Captain.^[2] In July 1944 he won the M.C. for gallantry under fire and then in August he won it again, adding a bar to it. ^[3] ^[4] ^[5]

In 1967 he was promoted from Lieutenant Colonel to Brigadier.^[6] He was later appointed Aide-de-Camp to Queen Elizabeth II, and retired in 1975. ^[7] ^[8] He stood in the xx General Election as a Conservative candidate for xx, but lost after the former conservative MP xx stood again as an independent and split the vote. He did not stand again.
