John Campbell (September 13, 1853 – January 1, 1938)[1] was an associate justice of the Colorado Supreme Court from 1895 to 1913, and again from 1922 to 1927.

Born, Monroe County, Indiana; graduate State University of Iowa; married Harriet J. Parker, June 28, Iowa City; admitted Iowa Bar, 1879; Colorado, January, 1880; City Attorney, Colorado Springs, 1880 to 1882; El Paso County Attorney, 1883 to 1885; both branches Legislature, 1885 to 1889; District Judge, 1889–95; Supreme Judge, 1895 to 1913, being Chief Justice more than eight years; trustee Colorado College; Dean Emeritus, Colorado University; member Denver Public Library Commission.[2]
In May 1922, following the death of Justice Morton Shelley Bailey earlier that year, Governor Oliver Henry Shoup appointed Campbell to the seat.[3] Campbell was then elected in November of that year to serve out the remainder of Bailey's term.
