Jason Ravelo, originally from Puerto Rico, developed a strong passion for track and field early in life, showing an innate talent for sprinting and hurdling. His athletic journey led him to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, renowned for training elite athletes. At IMG, Ravelo focused on perfecting his technique and speed in hurdles, setting the foundation for his future accomplishments in collegiate and international competitions.

High School Career at IMG Academy

While at IMG Academy, Ravelo became known for his skill and competitiveness in the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles. His high school career included a remarkable performance at the Florida Relays, where he placed second in the 110-meter hurdles. His achievements at IMG prepared him for higher levels of competition, enabling him to gain experience against some of the top young athletes in the U.S. while at IMG academy he set the 110 hurdle record with a time of 13.97

College Career at Marshall University

In 2024, Ravelo signed with Marshall University, continuing his athletic development as a collegiate hurdler. Competing in the NCAA for Marshall, he has shown consistent improvement in his main events, including the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles. His background at IMG and his international experience with the Puerto Rican team have given him an edge in collegiate competitions.

International Career with Puerto Rico National Team

Ravelo’s successes in the U.S. earned him a spot on the Puerto Rico national track and field team, where he represented his country in international competitions. Notably, he competed at the U20 Puerto Rico Championships and the World Under-20 Athletics Championships in Lima, Peru. In Lima, he finished in the 51st position in the 110-meter hurdles, showcasing his determination on the world stage.
