A total lunar eclipse will take place on 22 January 2024. The lunar eclipse will last for 5 hours and 38 minutes from P1 to P4, with the totality phase will last for 2 hours and 18 minutes. Since this eclipse is a total lunar eclipse, it will appear a reddish color during totality. The brightness of how red the moon appears varies, and can be categorized on a scale of 1 to 4.[1] This eclipse is a part of saros series 125.[2][3]

[edit]This eclipse will be visible mainly over the Pacific Ocean and North America. The eclipse will be visible at moonset over South America, and during moonrise over eastern Asia and Oceania.[4]
