Jan Antons was born in Dusseldorf, Germany circa 1980. His older brother, Nils Antons, is a former professional hockey player. His father, Heiko Antons, is also a former professional hockey player who played for team Germany in the 1972 Olympics. Jan moved to Kamloops, British Columbia at the age of 16 when Nils Antons was drafted by the Kamloops Blazers. In 2004, Jan became a Canadian citizen. Jan would be considered a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy. Jan formerly held the position of Kamloops Broncos general manager and Thompson Blazers general manager. Jan also has spent a bunch of time volunteering at various community things and he even is a technical delegate of the International Paralympic Committee. He is also very active on social media platforms such as Instagram, where he makes motivational edits of himself. Jan may not have any kids, but to so many he is a father figure.
