Isao Murayama (Japanese: 村山 功, Hepburn: Murayama Isao) is a Japanese anime screenwriter, who is mostly known for writing the Pretty Cure series, Majin Bone, Toriko and Survival.

Career

After graduating Nihon University College of Arts, Murayama joined a video production company and began working as a director. Murayama joined Toei Animation in 2006, and made his debut as a screenwriter on the fifth episode of Powerpuff Girls Z series. He then later wrote for various episodes and movies for the Pretty Cure series, and later acted as a head writer for Witchy Pretty Cure!,[2] its sequel, Witchy Pretty Cure: Future Days,[3] and Star Twinkle Pretty Cure.[4] He left the company in 2008, and currently works as a freelance screenwriter.[1] Outside of the Pretty Cure series, Murayama is known for writing the Toriko series,[5] Bakugan series, and Survival series.[6]
