On 21 November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant.[1]

Issuance

Israel is not a member of the International Criminal Court.[2] Karim Khan sought warrants against Hamas officials Ismail Haniyeh, Mohammed Deif, and Yahya Sinwar, though Sinwar and Haniyeh were later killed.[3]

Opposition leader Benny Gantz criticized the warrants as a "historic disgrace".[4] National security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for the annexation of the West Bank in response.[5]
