Beginning on 4 December 2024, opposition lawmakers called for the impeachment of South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol if he did not resign in the aftermath of his declaration of martial law the previous day. The Democratic Party said that six opposition parties would submit the impeachment to the National Assembly on 4 December and the assembly would vote on it on 6 or 7 December.[1]
