i3 Broadband is an American telecommunications company based in East Peoria, Illinois.[1]

History

[edit]

As Bitwise Communications, Inc.

[edit]

i3 Broadband was incorporated in 2000 as Bitwise Communications, Inc [2], providing CLEC dial-up internet service to Central Illinois.[3]

As OmniLEC

[edit]

In 2003, the company began operating under the alias of OmniLEC[4] and began providing FTTP service to Pekin, Illinois and the downtown area of Peoria, Illinois.

[edit]

In 2009, the company was sold to the owner of Family Video, and subsequently renamed ITV-3.[2][5] In 2014, UC2B announced their partnership and transfer of operations to ITV-3, [6] allowing the company to break into the market of the Champaign–Urbana metropolitan area.
