History

2013-2016: Formation and two song demo

[edit]

After The Famine disbanded in 2011 Andrew Godwin continued to write music with the help of Jon Tooley as producer. In 2013 one of the demo songs (Bleed Out) was used for a Tim Lambesis' side project called Pyrithion[1]. Upon returning from the studio in California, Godwin decided to pursue a heavy metal project with former The Famine touring guitarist Jon Tooley. Over the summer of 2014 they set out to self produce a demo that would end up being three songs mixed and mastered by Logan Mader of Machine Head fame. Two of the three songs (Coward & Parade The Corpses) would go on to be released in 2016[2].

2020-2023: Breathing Murder cover

[edit]

In 2020 long time friend, and former Embodyment bandmate, Jason Lindquist moved back to Texas. Lindquist was quickly recruited[3] for bass and writing momentum resumed. Godwin proposed a cover of Living Sacrifice's Breathing Murder from the their 1994 release Inhabit. The three members once again self produced this single. This time they hired Andreas Magnusson[4] of Red Planet Studios mix and master it as he had worked with Godwin on the Famine's 2008 debut: The Raven and the Reaping[5].

2024-present: Forthcoming full release

[edit]

The band recruited former Embodyment bandmate Derrick Wadsworth to cover drum duties. Shortly after David Bunton[6] of Tennessee's The Showdown was introduced to the band and was offered the lead vocal. At this time the band had over two handfuls of songs and decided to make the cut of 10 songs for their first full release set to be released in 2025. This as-of-yet unnamed album will also mixed and mastered by Andreas Magnusson.
