Hilary Damissah is a Nigerian journalist[1][2], the Chief Operating Officer at DigiVation Network[3][4], and a public affairs analyst[5]. He was a member of the Senate Committee Expert and Media Advisory Group on ICT and Cyber Security[6] (headed by Senator Foster Ogola, under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari ). He was elected Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Internet Group (NIG) in 2018[7] [8], and was also Executive Director Centre for Cyber Awareness and Development (CECAD)[9]. He is Director, Information and Strategy, National Youth Peace Summit[10], and he editorials Cyber Africa News Magazine[11].

Early life and aducation

Damissah hails from Afowah, Etsako[6] West Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language in the year 2000. He obtained Masters of Public Administration (MPA) in 2007 also from Obafemi Awolowo University.

He has Sales and Business Management Certificate from the Enterprise Development Centre, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos, and a Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management (IIM, Africa).

Career

Damissah kick-start his career as a Library Assistant at the Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Osun State, Nigeria. He was a freelance journalist with different publications including Star Beats weekly Newspaper, Abuja PM News among others. He also had a stint as a secondary school teacher of English Language and Literature in English at some top schools in Lagos including Dansol High School, Ikeja Lagos.

Between 2007 and 2010, Damissah worked at Royal International Magazine and later as Managing Editor, Elation Magazine. In 2011, he became the editor of Cyber Africa News and at Tribe Media Group, an independent multimedia outfit.

He is currently the Chief Operating Officer at DigiVation Network an IT, innovation, business and lifestyle programme on Africa Independent Television.
