Hey Paulette were an Irish indie pop band formed in Dublin in 1987, consisting of members Eamonn Davis (guitar and vocals), Derrick Dalton (guitar), and Colm Fitzpatrick (bass). The group contained multiple drummers over the course of their career, including Darren Nolan, Roland Thompson, and The Stars of Heaven's Stanley Erraught.[1]

In 1988, the band released two singles under the independent label Mickey Rourke's Fridge: "commonplace" (B-side "i don't want to be a male bardot")and "i really do love penelope". "i really do love penelope" was met with mild success, drawing the attention of English radio presenter John Peel. Hey Paulette would perform a Peel Session in 1989, but received little critical or public notoriety as a result.[2] The song "my half of the pillow" was later featured on the 1990 7" E.P. "Mickey Rourke's Fridge Presents...", an compilation album produced by the eponymous label.[3]
Hey Paulette disbanded in 1991, rendering their discography predominantly lost media, until a niche Internet revival prompted the release of "long ball into nowhere" in August 2006.[4] As Hey Paulette's only CD album to date, it compiled 17 studio recordings and live performances of the band's lost hits. The album was distributed under Firestation Records, Clarendon Records, and through the band's Myspace page.
