Henna Pryor

Henna Pryor (born 1982) is a workplace performance expert, award-winning author, and global keynote speaker. She is the author of Good Awkward: How to Embrace the Embarrassing and Celebrate the Cringe to Become The Bravest You.[1] She is the founder and CEO of Pryority Group[2] and she is a regular contributor at Inc. Magazine.[3]

Early Life and Education

Henna Pryor earned her Bachelors in Finance from the University of Delaware before getting her Masters degree in accounting from the University of Virginia. In 2019, Pryor received a certification in Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance (LCOP) from American University Professional Studies.[2]

Career

Between 2005-2019, Henna Pryor worked in recruiting for Kforce Inc.[4] In 2019, Pryor launched Pryority Group, a performance growth firm dedicated to enhancing workplace dynamics. Pryor has collaborated with organizations including Google, Workday, Johnson & Johnson, and JPMorgan Chase.[2]

Pryor has given two TEDx talks. Her first TEDx talk was released in September, 2022 with the title “Why awkwardness is your secret weapon for risk-taking at work”.[5] This talk was promoted to the home page of TED.com where it received over 500,000 views. Her second TEDx talk was released in December 2022 with the title “The new way to brag in the modern world - and feel good doing it”.[6]

Pryor’s first book, Good Awkward: How to Embrace the Embarrassing and Celebrate the Cringe to Become The Bravest You, was published on September 26, 2023 by IdeaPress. The book was named a Kirkus Reviews’ “Best Book of the Year”.[7]

In 2024, Pryor was named a SUCCESS Magazine Woman of Influence and selected as a speaker for the SXSW Workplace track.[8] She is currently a regular columnist for Inc Magazine.[3] She has been featured in numerous publications including INSIDER, NBC, Washington Post, Fast Company, Business.com, and HuffPost.[8]

Pryor resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Ian, and their two children.[9]
