Harry Du Bois is a fictional character and the main protagonist in the 2019 video game Disco Elysium. Du Bois is a police lieutenant for the fictional Revachol Citizen's Militia (RCM). After dealing with heavy substance abuse, he wakes up in a motel with complete memory loss. Along with his partner, lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi, Harry must solve a murder case involving a hanged man and an ongoing labor strike.[1]
Due to damage caused by alcohol abuse, Harry starts to hear voices related to different parts of his personality. Each one acts as a RPG skill, where the player can put points into them, prompting new internal monologues or dialogue choices.
The portrail of Harry's sorrows have garnered praised for creating a flawed yet sympathetic character that the player can root for and help in his eventual recovery.[2]
