Hammed Kayode Alabi is a Nigerian educational technology entrepreneur, and digital development resercher who started Skill2Rural[1], an education [[Nonprofit organization|non-profit organisation]] that provides digital 21st-century skills and career readiness training that has reached thousands of young people in underserved communities such as slum, rural, and internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Nigeria and Africa[2][3][4]. He is also the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kayode Alabi Leadership and Career Initiative (KLCI), a youth led non profit organization that aims to reduce inequalities through youth empowerment[5][6].

He is the only African to be selected for the ImpactAI program of the One Young World Summit[7][8] and a nominee of the 2024 Future Award Africa.[9][10]

Education

Alabi obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Human Kinetics/Education from University of Ilorin in 2015. He also holds a Masters of Arts (MA) degree in Africa and International Development from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Career and activism

Alabi's mission is to help young people in underserved communities have access to education, skills and opportunities[11][12].

In 2017, Alabi founded Kayode Alabi Leadership and Career Initiative (KLCI) which aim to create opportunities for undeserved young people[13].

He has participated and represented Nigeria at high-level meetings such as the One Young World Summit as the only African scholar[14] and In September 2023, he was chosen for the 16-week Western Union Foundation Fellowship powered by the Watson Institute[15][16]. Alabi is a 2024 nominee of the Future Award[17][18]
