KFC Canada Halal
On May 15th,2024 KFC Canada announced all Ontario restaurants would be using only Halal certified chicken as well as ending the use of all pork on their menu. A Halal only policy at KFC across Canada will be in place by year's end.[1]
The Halal only policy does not however reflect Canada's religious followers as,according to the 2021 Canadian census 52.1% of Canada's population identifies as Christian while only 6.72% identify as Muslim.[2] This small number of a religious group using Halal meats at KFC does not represent the majority of those in Canada who do not identify as Muslim.
