HC-98 tank Helmet – Headset designed for the use of tracked vehicles and APCs.[1]

The headset works with all internal communication systems—traditional, SOTAS, or FONET. The HC-98 consists of a headset cap, hearing protection with noise suppressors, headphones, and voice transducers in the form of laryngoscopes or a differential microphone. The headset is made of fabric in the "Panther camouflage" colour, in black or "Sahara."

The headset was designed to effectively protect the head from mechanical injuries and muffle noises occurring inside armoured combat vehicles. The HC-98 headset lets you put on night vision goggles, e.g. PNL-2A or PNL-2AD. The headset can be equipped with a Kevlar shard that additionally protects the user's head from bullets, shrapnel and impacts. An example of such a shard is the HCB-99. The leading manufacturer of HC-98 tank headsets is Interprotel sp. z o.o. based in Radom.
