Gupta Conquest of Kanchipuram was a battle fought between the Gupta Empire under Samudragupta and Pallava dynasty under Vishnugopa I. It was a part of Samudragupta compaign of South India. Samudragupta marched towards the Pallava dynasty, defeating them and seizing their capital.[1]
Vishnugopa I was the king of Pallava dynasty who was defeated by Samudragupta.[2][3]It is possible that may be the Pallava dynasty became a vassal of the Gupta Empire.
