Guild Festival Theatre is a theatre in Scarborough, Ontario Canada and is known for producing classics reimagined on stage. The theatre was founded by Sten Eirik and Robin Phillips in 2011. Sten Eirik was the artistic director from 2011 and remained in the role until his death in April of 2015. In 2015, Jamie Robinson took over as artistic director until 2017. In 2017, co-artistic directors, Helen Juvonen and Tyler J. Seguin were introduced.
Background
[edit]The theatre performs out of Guild Park and Gardens on an outdoor stage known as the Greek Theatre.
Guild Festival Theatre has received and been nominated for many local awards including Best Live Theatre” (Scarborough Mirror), 2017 OAC Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts (nomination) and the Urban Hero Award (Metroland Media).[1]
