Gone to Seed is a British comedy-drama television miniseries written by Tony Grounds. It was produced by Central Independent Television for ITV, and was broadcast between 13 November and 18 December 1992. The series stars Alison Steadman, Jim Broadbent, Warren Clarke, Peter Cook and Sheila Hancock, with Ted Childs serving as executive producer.
The series is a spiritual successor to Gone to the Dogs, another production for ITV which consists of the same creators and some cast members.

[edit]The series was broadcast on Friday nights at 8.00pm. Beginning episode 2, characters introduced each episode, appearing pre-credits, giving the audience a brief recap of what occurred in the previous episode, while breaking the fourth wall.

Home media
[edit]The complete series was originally released in the UK from Central Video on a double VHS set, on 8 February 1993.[14] It was first released on DVD in the United States and Canada (region 1), via BFS Entertainment, on 21 October 2008.[15] In the UK, the series received a DVD release, in a set also containing Gone to the Dogs, on 27 February 2012 via Network.[16]
