Draft:Fylde Coast Academy Trust

Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT) was established in 2012 by Fylde Coast Teaching School, a partnership of Blackpool Sixth Form College and Hodgson Academy. FCAT are a Multi-Academy Trust working in partnership with educational institutions.

The academies in the trust are :Armfield Academy, Aspire Academy, Garstang Community Academy,Gateway Academy, Hambleton Primary Academy,Mereside Primary School,Montgomery High School,Unity Academy,Westcliff Primary School and Westminster Primary Academy

In 2021 Dean Logan, a former head teacher and previous chief executive of the Achievement Through Collaboration Trust, was appointed the new CEO of the Fylde Coast Academy Trust, which oversees schools in Blackpool. (Gazette 2021) In September 2024 The Fylde Coast Academy Trust was victim of a cyberattack allegedly from the Rhysida (hacker group)

The hackers have reportedly demanded a substantial sum of money and are threatening to permanently block access to FCATs systems until they are paid.It is currently unknown whether the attack has led to any safeguarding leaks or breaches of GDPR.
