Francisco Sánchez Jr. is an American public official known for his work in disaster preparedness and economic resilience. He currently serves as the Associate Administrator for the Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).[1] Appointed by President Joe Biden, Sánchez is the first non-banker to hold this position.[2]

[edit]A lifelong Texan, Sánchez earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston and a master's degree in Public Administration from Sam Houston State University.[3]

[edit]Before joining the SBA, Sánchez held leadership roles in emergency management at the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management in Texas.[4] During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in responding to hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike, and Harvey, as well as other natural disasters, including flooding and wildfires.[5]
