Forged in Patagonia is a handcraft project run by a bi-national couple in rural Patagonia. The small business seeks to support traditional handcraft, particularly forging and blacksmith arts, through knifemaking workshops and the sale of handmade items.
Forged in Patagonia also seeks to address global inequality through hands-on craftsmanship. "When you buy a handmade knife from us, you breach the ever-widening income gap between north and south through traditional handcraft," they say on their website.[1]
Knifemaker Oskar, who is Argentine, is interested in exploring new forms of knifemaking that draw from ancient sources while staying true to traditional craft. According to this article,[2] he created a copper and steel dagger inspired by Bronze Age knives.
Forged in Patagonia is based in the foothills of the Andes in Argentine Patagonia[3]
